The technology now exists to have an AI run your relationships end to end. It can read your inbox, decide who deserves attention, write the message, send it, handle the reply, and report back that your network is "nurtured." Some tools are heading exactly there, and on a demo it looks like magic: your relationships, on autopilot.
We build an AI relationship agent for a living, and we think autopilot is precisely the wrong destination. Not because the models aren't good enough. Because of what a relationship is.
The moment the words aren't yours
A relationship between two professionals runs on a quiet assumption: when you hear from me, it's me. That assumption is why a warm message lands, why an introduction carries weight, why "thinking of you, saw this" means something. The first time someone discovers a machine sent your message, and people do find out, every message you've ever sent them gets requoted at a discount. Trust doesn't degrade gracefully.
That is why bondai never sends anything on your behalf. Not as a settings default, but as a line we won't cross. The agent remembers, watches, preps and drafts. You read, edit and send. The last step stays human because the last step is the relationship.
Help should end where your voice begins
Plenty of what happens around relationships is honest work for a machine: hunting through old email for what you promised, noticing a contact changed jobs, keeping the story of a relationship in one place, prepping you before a meeting, catching the account that's drifting. Doing that by hand is admin, and admin is why good people let good relationships lapse.
A draft in your own register is still help. Sending it for you is a substitution. The test we use for every feature is simple: does this make the human more present in the relationship, or less? More prepared, more thoughtful, faster to close a loop: build it. Removes the person from the moment that matters: don't, no matter how well it demos.
AI should make you more human, not less. That's the whole product philosophy at bondai, and it's also, we suspect, where this category ends up once the autopilot novelty wears off. Nobody wants to discover their network has been talking to a bot. People want to be the one who remembers, with an unfair amount of help.
